What is ScreenFox?
ScreenFox is the app that makes you earn your screen time. You choose the apps that steal your time, and ScreenFox locks them with Apple's Screen Time. Opening one costs one of Foxy's hearts, and you earn hearts by doing something good for yourself: a focus session, a quick quiz, a workout, a walk, a small quest or a journal entry.
How do Foxy's hearts work?
Every time you continue into a restricted app, it costs one heart and opens the app for a short session. When Foxy is out of hearts, your restricted apps stay locked until you earn another one. Foxy's mood follows his hearts: plenty of hearts means a happy fox, an empty tank means a sad one.
How do I earn hearts?
Open the Earn hearts section on the home screen and pick a task. Quiz: get 5 math, geography or trivia answers right. Exercise: push-ups, squats or a short walk. Quests: make your bed, drink some water, smile, tidy your desk, step outside or touch grass. Journal: a mood check-in or gratitude entry. Each task earns one heart. Focus sessions block your apps while you study, read, work out or do something else you love, and earn up to 3 hearts.
How does Foxy check that I really did a task?
Quizzes need 5 correct answers. Push-ups and squats are counted with your camera, walks are measured with GPS and your step counter, and quests like making your bed are confirmed with a photo. All of these checks are analysed on your iPhone. Your photos and routes never leave it.
How does app blocking work?
ScreenFox uses Apple's Screen Time API to shield the apps you pick at the system level. When you open one, Foxy asks if you're sure, shows how many hearts are left, and lets you continue after a short pause. Each continue costs one heart.
Can I choose how strict ScreenFox is?
Yes. You pick which apps are restricted and a difficulty that sets how much app time one heart buys, from Rookie (5 minutes per heart) to Monk mode (1 minute per heart). You can change your settings at any time.
How do streaks work?
Your streak grows on every day you earn at least one heart. Simply opening the app doesn't count. ScreenFox can remind you before your streak runs out.
How do I set up ScreenFox on my iPhone?
After downloading ScreenFox, Foxy walks you through a short setup: how hearts work, earning your first heart, and granting Screen Time permission so you can choose the apps to restrict.
Is ScreenFox available on Android?
Not yet. ScreenFox is available on the App Store today, and the Android version is on its way. Stay tuned!
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your screen time, hearts, streaks, journal entries and settings are stored on your device. Camera, motion and location checks for tasks are processed on your iPhone. We do not collect or transmit your personal usage data to external servers.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → ScreenFox → Cancel. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
My subscription isn't being recognized.
Try restoring purchases inside the app. If the issue persists, contact us at [email protected].
How do I delete my data?
Uninstall the app. All data stored on your device is removed automatically.
